Passed/ Past

Passed is a form of "to pass" ("She passed the mustard to me").

Past as a noun or adjective refers to times gone by ("Ms. MacLaine was Cleopatra's sister in a past life") and as a preposition means "beyond" ("The supermarket is past the liquor store to your right").
