LY  HAMFEST ’2000

Radio amateurs in Lithuania have a tradition every summer to meet somewhere
in a beautiful place. Lithuanian Amateur Radio Society (LRMD) and Panevezys
district radio club organize LY HAMFEST '2000 and kindly invite radio
amateurs from all countries.

It will provide excellent occasion to meet over 300 LY hams in the same
place.

TIME
Official opening ceremony will start at Saturday noon (at 12:00) on July 29.
As usual, we will start to gather earlier, therefore you can arrive
beginning with Wednesday, July 26. Official closing ceremony will take place
on Sunday, July 30 at 13:00. However, Hamfest will not end at this time. You
can stay until Wednesday, August 2.

PLACE
Hamfest site is situated near old BALSIAI watermill, 2 km from PASVALYS town
in Northern Lithuania, not far from Latvian border.

FACILITIES
Balsiai watermill is one of the oldest in Lithuania, built in 1764,
protected monument of architecture. Recently there is fine arranged place
for festivals and fairs. Sleeping rooms (10 USD/night), restaurant, bar and
sauna is located in the watermill. Two bathing places (one for children),
basketball court, dancing ground and space for tents are alongside. You can
buy food and drinks in the hamfest place or catch fish and lobsters in the
river.

ACTIVITIES
VHF, ARDF, RUFZ, basketball, beer drinking, rope pulling and other contests.
Lotteries, auctions, campfire, dancing, biplane flights (LY2000RMD/AM), etc.
